Best UK Sports Event!

freshnlo Pedal for Scotland,
is the biggest bike ride in Scotland and one that
Pennine Events has worked in
partnership with
Cycling Scotland
to deliver for a number of years.
This popular event has already won a staggering
array of Scottish event awards but this is the first UK
award.
The Inaugural UK Event Awards, saw the gathering of
the top event industry professionals to find out who had
won the much sought after awards. The glittering awards ceremony took place last
week at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, with much
celebrations on our part, as Pedal for Scotland was
awarded the Best UK Sports Event accolade.
Earlier this year, freshnlo Pedal for Scotland was
also voted 'Best Leisure Sporting
Event' and winner of the overall 'Event Management Grand Prix'
at the Scottish Event Awards.

Over 9000 people got on their bikes, on Sunday 12th
September 2010 for the biggest mass participant cycle ride in
Scotland.

Choosing from three rides to suit all ages and
experience.
51 Mile Classic Route
The legendary original freshnlo Pedal for Scotland ride,
the Glasgow to Edinburgh bike
ride attracts thousands of cyclists every year thanks to
its classic combination of a great route, brilliant
atmosphere and free food and drink.
100 Mile Sportive
The freshnlo Pedal for Scotland Sportive was a brand new
ride of 100 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh.
The route took riders through the Southern Uplands and
down into Edinburgh passing through 7 local authorities
and incorporating the best sections of numerous Scottish
cycle racing circuits, including the A77 10 Mile Time
Trial, sections of the Moscow APR and the Strathaven
Anderside Classic, incorporating steep climbs around
Muirkirk and undulating stretches across wild moorland.
Off Road Family Ride
The Family Ride turned out, as promised, to be a great
day out for parents with young children or those new to
cycling. The ride was free to enter, and in addition to
the joys of traffic free cycling there were loads of
other great reasons to come along, including live music
and entertainment.
