Children in Need Success!
12/10/2011
The streets of Lincolnshire were
lined with well-wishers as we pedalled through on the
final day of the challenge. It spurred everyone on that
little bit more and the strong winds were no obstacle on
this home run. Not only were they cheering us on but
also pressing money on us too - we probably collected
over £1000 just on this section.

An amazing reception then greeted
us as we came into the finish at Lincoln Guildhall with
a wall of people, reporters and news cameras, not
forgetting Pudsey Bear. It got quite emotional too for
the team of BBC Radio Lincs Breakfast Presenter Rod
Whiting, Reporter Louise Walsh and Lincolnshire Echo
Sports Editor John Pakey as they realised their
ambitions and the extent of their achievement sunk in.
Over 600miles ridden in 8 days from Neustadt in Germany
through to Lincoln - and not a single puncture!

The welcome we got from a school in
Rustington will also live long in the memory, with the
children lining the school drive way and give us a
film-star style reception, constant cheers, clamouring
to be pictured with us and see Pudsey.

This was the second Children in
Need Ride we have organised for the BBC. It was equally
fun, challenging and rewarding and we look forward to
the next one.

The total raised is now over £27k and still rising.
